Cowry for thought: a private reading of your money

Most finance apps talk over you. They push scores, nudges, and advice you never asked for. Cowry for thought does something quieter — it reflects.

It's a short, plain-English reading of what your money actually did over a period. Not a lecture, not a plan. A mirror.

What a reading is

Open the reading and you'll find a few honest paragraphs written in the kind of language you'd use yourself: where your money went, what changed since last time, and the one or two things worth noticing. No jargon, no shame, no generic tips that could apply to anyone.

The point isn't to tell you what to do. It's to show you clearly what's already happening, so the next step becomes obvious to you.

Built only from your own transactions

A mirror is only useful if it's honest — and only yours. Every word in a reading is generated from your own activity. Nothing is invented, and every figure can be traced back to real transactions.

Your data is never used to train models, and it's never sold or shared. The reading exists for an audience of one.

Only when you say so

Cowry never writes a reading in the background. You ask for it. If you'd rather not have one, you don't — and you can turn the feature off entirely at any time.

That's the whole idea: your money, your call, your mirror.

Where to find it

Cowry for thought is opt-in and rolling out gradually, so it may need to be enabled for your account before it appears — and because it's off by default, you might not see it yet. When it's available, head to Insights → Cowry for thought once you have some activity in Cowry, and ask for your reading when you're ready. It takes a moment to write, then it's yours to read in your own time. You can turn it off again anytime under Settings.

And if a paragraph raises a question — "wait, how much did I spend on eating out?" — you can ask follow-ups right there. More on that in Ask anything about your activity.
